Diagnosis
Vertex smooth and shiny, with strong setation with short setae; occipital margin with a rounded edge; mesoscutum with coarse and dense pits, strongly hairy with long setae; sculpture on scutellum variable from predominantly smooth and shiny with sparse coarse pits to with densely packed coarse pits (as on mesoscutum), with strong setation, setae with about same length and direction; costal cell with a complete row of setae on ventral surface; submarginal vein with three setae; first gastral tergite smooth laterally; male antenna with 2-segmented clava; with a carina along posterior margin of eye (as in floridensis).
